Lam Yai was born in 1966 and spent much of her early adult life working in logging until the practice was banned in 1989. She was then put to work at various trekking camps, taking people on rides day after day for decades.
Lam Yai was rescued in 2019 and is now rehabilitating at our sanctuary, gratefully leaving behind a life of abuse that has left her scarred – both physically and mentally. Lam Yai likes to swim in the dam and wander around the sanctuary forging on natural vegetation together with her friend. Lam Yai is especially fond of bananas.She formed a strong bond with Kham Sing who is also blind in her left eye. Sadly Kham
